Goro san's fervent prayer!

Kodoku no Gurume is based on a manga by Qusumi Masayuki (story) and Taniguchi Jiro (art)
The story is simple. Inogashira Goro (played by Matsushige Yutaka) is an imported antiques dealer. The show follows Goro san as he patiently makes his way through dreary (for the most part) business meetings. Goro san really comes to life when it is time for lunch. Food has his complete attention. Once hunger pangs hit him he'll get up and walk away, no matter how important the task at hand. But even when extremely hungry, Goro san has a criterion that he abides by strictly. Listen to your heart? No, Goro san listens to his stomach. He walks the streets of the particular district of Tokyo he's in until he sees something that feels right. And then what follows is a complete gastronomic & visual delight. Goro san feasts on sumptuous spreads, while we the viewer feast our eyes. Torture for the tummy is what it is.
At the end of the show, Qusumi Masayuki himself visits the restaurant where Goro san had his lunch and tries out the food there.
